Accelerated Nursing Program at South University

I’ve been receiving e-mail requests from people asking to me to highlight some of the various degree programs on our nursing school directory. What a fantastic idea! Thanks to all for your great feedback.

Nurse Educators Desperately Needed in Nevada

I recently read that at a November meeting in Reno, the Nevada State Board of Nursing decided to allow teacher waivers for bachelor's degree nursing programs. The waiver, which has been in place for two years for associate's programs, lets nurses with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and experience to teach the clinical lessons in venues like hospitals and nursing homes. Nursing School Waiting List in the Hundreds

Most recently I read a story how hundreds of students are on a three-year, yes I did say 3 year, wait list to get into the nursing program at Front Range Community College because there is not enough space on campus to accommodate them. According to the article there are about 350 students on the current wait list for the standard two-year associates degree in nursing and 125 are on the wait list for an accelerated program offered in the summer. Nurse educator Tracey Gaslin who is an assistant professor at the University of Louisville was selected from more than five hundred nominations to receive the New York Times Job Market “Tribute to Nurses” award. This award is given to honor outstanding patient care and excellence in nursing education.
